ADOPTION FEES
At VOKRA, we rely solely on adoption fees, donations and grants to pay for the costs of rescuing more than 1,400 cats and kittens each year.
The veterinarians we work with kindly provide their services to us for a discounted rate as we're a registered charity. However, adoption fees cover only a fraction of the average costs we incur for each of our rescued kittens and cats.
Our adoption fees include the following:
post-adoption veterinary check-up
first vaccination (adopter pays for second/booster vaccination)
two routine deworming treatments
flea treatment (if necessary)
spay or neuter
microchip (including registration) and tattoo

Senior cat (older than 8 years) ….. $145
*Fees are subject to PST and may change without notice.
Effective October 15, 2021, a microchip and registration, in addition to a tattoo, is included with each adoption.
PET INSURANCE
We recommend all our adopted cats/kittens have pet insurance. After your post adoption check-up and after addressing any issues that might be identified at that check-up, financial responsibility for the cat transfers to you. We are working with Petsecure, which can be activated at your post adoption vet check. Please mention VOKRA as the shelter you dealt with.
