rescue
At VOKRA our mission is to end cat overpopulation and homelessness and our volunteers spend much of their time rescuing tame strays. Trapping these cats and kittens is the first step towards finding them their furever homes.
prenatal, natal & orphans
If you’ve ever wondered about VOKRA’s origins, you wouldn’t have too look far – it’s right there in our name, specifically in the O and the K, which stand for “Orphan Kitten”. Founded because of kittens that were orphaned and without moms, VOKRA began as a means to provide crucial care that would replicate the feeding and love a mom cat would normally provide and this is still at the core of what we do today.
trap-neuter-return
Humane trapping of feral cats for sterilization and return, wherever possible, to their original locations.
barn cats
At VOKRA we love feral cats. Whether they be semi-feral or full fledged, we recognize they deserve our love and attention despite not having had the good fortune of being born indoors. Feral cats that cannot be safely returned to their original location are found a new career as “rodent control technicians” through our barn program
